Have you ever gotten a sharp email from a business or church and thought how much you would love a professional looking email newsletter for your Deaf Ministry? The good news is that you can! The better news? It’s free! I want to introduce you to MailChimp. An excellent resource that will help you connect to your people on a regular basis.
MailChimp is a website-based bulk email sending service. You can design a stylish email to send and communicate whatever information you want to those you lead. I plan on visiting the idea of making email lists more in the future, but for some quick ideas, you can communicate upcoming events, memory verses, and upcoming lessons.
I like MailChimp because it is one of those rare programs that merges quality with free. If you have over 2,000 subscribers or are sending over 12,000 emails a month, you will need to pay (at that level there are cheaper paid options). However, for most of us, the numbers on our mailing lists will be significantly less. With Mail Chimp, for free, you get a well made bulk emailing service that puts out excellent looking emails. For examples of what MailChimp can do, I have an image of one of my Ministry’s emails to the right. Also, you can subscribe to our blog’s email list and see what those look like as well.
I know many people are thinking that they don’t have the time to bother with a new program, or even set up and email list. Before I used MailChimp, I was sending an email newsletter to my ministry simply from my email account. It was hard for me to keep up with everyone’s names and make sure I had everyone in the “to” line. With MailChimp, people can sign up for my email list and I don’t have to even do anything. I can put a box to let people subscribe on “Deaf” page of my church’s website and that’s it! They can unsubscribe themselves if they want, as well. It takes a lot of the work out of it for me.
It takes me about 10 minutes to send an email blast every week.
MailChimp also saves me time making the email. There is a little time investment up front to set up MailChimp, but once that is done, it takes me about 10 minutes to send an email blast every week. I have my design saved as a template, and I edit information as needed. Quick and easy.
Mail chimp is a powerful email-sending service that will help you better connect with the people in your ministry. It’s free, quick, and user friendly. If you haven’t tried an email newsletter with your Deaf Ministry, or you are doing one and want to do it better, try MailChimp.
You can find MailChimp at www.MailChimp.com.
